I've Got My Lunch, My Shoes Tied Tight...


Today is the first day of school.  

Today, I feel grateful to have the opportunity to teach a subject that I love.  To have the opportunity to develop into young adults about music and leadership and collaboration.

I feel grateful that there are no political or social or environmental factors that prevent me from teaching, nor prevent my students from having the opportunity to attend school.  (And I'm sending positive vibes to a friend whose school year was delayed a month due to tornado damage, and which had the first day of school cancelled today because of flooding.)

So, with that, and with little time to write a more in depth post of my own, I leave you with two videos which, although very different, both speak to my heart and my beliefs about teaching and teachers.
